Those who are engaging in statistical training in the NSOs and ministries achieve skills to train statistics and manage training, including training in designing, developing and delivering of statistical training programmes, training to certify trainers in specific statistical areas (Indicative areas: basic statistical methods; administrative statistics; sampling methodologies; gender statistics; National Accounts; SEEA; agricultural statistics; and IT applications in statistics)

Closing gender data gaps is essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Gender statistics are critical for understanding the distinct realities of women and men, girls and boys, and for informing policies aimed at addressing inequalities, but data and information gaps are often impediments to achieving this. While efforts to enhance gender data production have advanced, significant gaps still remain.

Quality data are vital for enabling governments, international organizations, civil society, private sector and the general public to make informed decisions and to ensure the accountability of representative bodies. Effective planning, follow-up and review of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development requires the collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of an unprecedented amount of data and statistics at local, national, regional and global levels and by multiple stakeholders.

The objective of the workshop is to provide staff of national statistical systems with tools, methods and techniques for improved facilitation and communication in a workshop setting, including remote trainings. Topics to be covered during the workshop include: “Questioning, Listening & Responding Skills”, “Discussion leading process” and “Preparing a session plan”. At the end of the workshop participants will also practice the facilitation skills they have learned during the workshop.
